It springs from the merging of the previously separate technologies PDF and Flash, and allows Acrobat to leave its static ePaper roots behind.
The source of this new lease of life is clear. It is most obvious, however, in the new, top-of-the-range Adobe Acrobat 9 Extended package. This new vitality is evident in the introduction of important new features across all areas of PDF handling and across the entire range of Acrobat authoring tools. In fact version 9 is the most exciting Acrobat release since the launch of the all-important free Reader application. The good news is that that's not the case at all. With the chronically unimpressive version 8 release it even seemed that Acrobat might be reaching the end of its useful life. Recently however Acrobat has been showing its age and come to feel slow, lumbering and old-fashioned: a dinosaur in today's fast-pace internet age.

I did not installed the Canon Scan on the ASUS Netbook. The same problem is happening with another PC (an ASUS Netbook, Windows 7 Ultimate), but there is a different message: “Adobe Acrobat” at the top of the new window and the following message => “Multiple scanner drivers detected. I forgot to mention that I am using a VAIO i7 laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate. What is the problem? Is there a missing driver? How can I fix it? I can scan normally using a Canon Scan connect through the USB. I can scan using Microsoft Paint normally. The printer is on and connected through the wireless. An error message appear in a new window: at the top it says “ScanGear” than there is a message stating “it is not possible to communicate with the scanner, the cable is disconnected or the scanner is off, verify the status, the scanner’s driver will be closed”. I tried creating a PDF from within Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. I think I am experiencing the same problem.
